A Purcell Enabled Monolayer Semiconductor Free-Space Optical Modulator

Abstract

We illustrate a general pathway to reduce the detrimental impact of the non-radiative decay and dephasing in quantum materials through photonic design of the device electrodes, demonstrating a free-space electro-optical modulator based on atomically-thin semiconductors.
