Nonlinear Self-injection Locking for All-Passive Laser Stabilization Beyond the Schawlow-Townes Limit

Abstract

We propose a method for laser stabilization and phase-noise reduction using nonlinear feedback in which a gain-narrowed signal mode of a nonlinear oscillator is re-injected back into the pump laser. We show a proof-of-concept using Brillouin scattering.
