Abstract

We present a high-efficiency photoconductive terahertz source based on high-aspect ratio plasmonic contact electrodes. Terahertz radiation powers up to 105 µW are obtained at an optical pump power of 1.4 mW, exhibiting a record-high optical-to-terahertz conversion efficiency of 7.5%.
