Geometrical effects in second-harmonic generation from metal nanoparticles

Abstract

We investigate non-centrosymmetric metal nanoparticles of different geometries by second-harmonic generation. In contrast to recent emphasis on plasmonic resonances, we find that strong responses rely on the character of plasmon oscillations supported by the geometry.
