Compact Athermal Electro-optic Modulator Design Based on SOI Off-axis Microring Resonator

Abstract

In this work, we propose efficient electro-optic modulation using compact SOI off-axis microring resonator. We show that adding an extra off-axis inner-ring in conventional microring structure provides control to compensate thermal effects on electro-optic modulator.
