Mode selection filter using THz metamaterials surfaced on LiNbO3 sub-wavelength slab waveguide

Abstract

We implemented periodic bar arrays metamaterials to separate waveguide modes of terahertz waves propagating in a LiNbO3 sub-wavelength waveguide. The spatial and temporal electric field profiles were recorded using a time-resolved phase contrast imaging system.
