Significant Enhancement of Third- and Fifth-Harmonic Generation in Air via Two-Color, Time-Resolved Methods

Abstract

We report two orders of magnitude enhancement of third- and fifth-harmonic generation in air via time-resolved methods using two-color, femtosecond beams. We attribute the significant enhancement to cross-phase modulation and/or plasma assisted phase matching effects.
