Abstract
Abrupt transitions in the scattering response of parity-time (PT)-symmetric nanoparticles is discussed. Based on the closed-form analytical solution of a complex scattering problem, we show that material imbalance can generate strong absorbing or amplifying scattering states above PT threshold.
