Dynamical Driving and Probing of Quantum Phase Transitions on the Nanoscale

Abstract

We extended the characterization of photoinduced quantum phase transitions into the nanoscale. We demonstrate this for VO2 by accessing spatial inhomogeneities in the insulator-to-metal transition due to local strain and defects.
