Hot Electron Relaxation in Thin Titanium Nitride Films

Abstract

Pump-probe experiments using a femtosecond laser capture the dynamics of the electron thermalization and phonon relaxation. TiN is a plasmonic ceramic with optical properties comparable to noble metals, but exhibits much weaker electron-phonon cooling.
