Parametric gain assisted by free-carriers population oscillations in photonic crystal cavity

Abstract

We investigate experimentally how nonlinear absorption in a photonic crystal cavity all-optical switch can turn into in a large 8dB parametric gain. A numerical model is proposed to take into account this new gain effect.
