Abstract

Reproducible ultrahigh SERS enhancement in deterministic plasmonic hotspots allows chemical events on the single molecule level to be observed in real time, including plasmon-driven dimerization of 4NBT to DMAB, DMAB desorption and trans-cis conformation switching.
