Focusing Light onto a Zero-dimensional Point with Lossy Left-handed Materials

Abstract

We show that perfect focusing of light can be achieved with passive (lossy) left-handed materials, without a need for gain or nonlinearity, and present guidelines for designing loss-immune perfect lenses.
