Hot Electron Dynamics and Internal Photoemission Limits

Abstract

Hot-electron plasmonic devices offering photo absorption without bandgap limitation has created much excitement. However, reported experimental efficiencies are extremely low. Through a bottom-up quantum-transport model we will introduce design parameters for high efficiency photoemission devices.
