Strong Attractive Force Between Graphene Sheets at Terahertz Induced by Extraordinary Wavelength Reduction

Abstract

We numerically demonstrate optical force between graphene sheets can be enhanced by 50x at terahertz from the extraordinary wavelength reduction of quasi-TEM modes. Unlike step-index waveguides, the force is attractive irrespective of the waveguide dispersion.
