Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally the higher-order multipolar contributions in the nonlinear response of fishnet metamaterials. The measured third-harmonic radiation pattern shows direct evidence of interference of magneto-electric contributions, opening new opportunities for engineering of metamaterials nonlinearities.
