Free Carrier induced Nonlinear Six-wave Mixing in Silicon

Abstract

We report free carrier induced effective six-wave mixing in silicon. Unique features of this novel nonlinear wave mixing process, including strong detuning dependence, asymmetric sideband lineshape, and interactions with Kerr four-wave mixing are demonstrated.
