Abstract

A novel electro-wetting-on-dielectric digital microfluidic device with on-chip-detection is proposed, which is realized by embedding structurally compatible waveguides. The evanescent field senses the index change of droplets on top with a sensitivity of 1.05×10−5 RIU.
