Optical Vortex Beam Generation in the Deep-Ultraviolet

Abstract

We report the generation of optical vortex beams in the deep-ultraviolet. Using single-pass second-harmonic-generation of a Laguerre-Gaussian picosecond green beam in BBO crystal, we have generated vortex beams up to 12th order at 266 nm.
