Guided Entropy-Wave Scattering

Abstract

Driven optical scattering from guided entropy-waves is demonstrated in superfluid helium-4 in a hollow-core fiber. A single strongly-coupled second-sound resonance is observed, which varies with temperature in proportion to the known second-sound speed, as predicted.
