Stoichiometric Rare-Earth Crystals for Applications in Quantum Information

Abstract

We demonstrate that in stoichiometric rare-earth crystals the excitation induced interactions between ions can be resolved over the optical inhomogeneous linewidth, introducing the possibility of utilising many-body effects for quantum information applications.
