Long-range Laser-induced Self-assembly via Plasmon Radiative Interactions and the Lorentz Force

Abstract

We report on the light-induced formation of gold-nanoparticle chains as long as 200μm, aligned perpendicular to the illuminating linear polarization. The long-range self-assembly is shown to arise from plasmon radiation and the Lorentz force.
