Interaction of Counter-Propagating Light in Microresonators: Theoretical Model and Oscillatory Regimes

Abstract

An analytical model is presented for the recently observed spontaneous symmetry breaking in nonlinear microresonators. Conditions for the symmetry breaking are obtained, and further models for sensing applications are produced, together with a stability analysis.
