Chirality-locked valley polarization in photonic graphene

Abstract

We demonstrate experimentally chirality-locked valley polarization in photonic graphene. A point source without chirality excites two inequivalent (K, K’) valleys equally, whereas a chiral source selectively excites only one preferred valley depending on its chirality.
