Characterization of the Photonic Response in Nitzschia Filiformis Phytoplankton

Abstract

The optical response of the phytoplankton species Nitschia filiformis, specifically its silica shell, is investigated by correlating SEM, AFM, SNOM, and HSI microscopy techniques. Our results demonstrate its behavior as a passive optical device.
