Level-set Fabrication Constraints for Gradient-based Optimization of Optical Devices

Abstract

When designing integrated optical devices, fabrication constraints need to be satisfied. We present an analytical constraint for level-set parameterizations that limits the gap/feature size and can be combined with higher order gradient-based optimization algorithms.
