Microwave Waveform Generation via Discrete Fourier Transform of Modulated Optical Pulse Train

Abstract

A new scheme of microwave waveform generation is experimentally demonstrated utilizing envelope detection of optical waveform generated from discrete Fourier transform of modulated optical pulse trains. Programmable triangular and rectangular microwave waveforms are synthesized.
