Abstract

We present a fully integrated optical receiver in a standard 40nm CMOS process, suitable for 1310nm communication. The receiver consists of a Schottky photodiode and an analog front-end. The chip consumes 48.7mW and has been optically measured with bit rates up to 1Gb/s showing a sensitivity of 3.3dBm optical power for a BER of 1010.
