Observing Quantum Turbulent Structure in Laser Speckle

Abstract

We demonstrate both experimentally and numerically that vortices in laser speckle obey the same velocity statistics as in turbulent quantum fluids, thus linking the seemingly-disparate fields of classical optics and quantum fluid dynamics.
