Interferometric quantum random number generation on chip

Abstract

We demonstrate an on-chip, high-speed quantum random number generator based on the interference of two gain-switched pulsed lasers. FPGA-based electronics allows for real-time processing, providing 8 Gbps random numbers passing all the NIST tests.
