Demonstration of turbulence-resistant propagation of anti-diffracting optical beams beyond kilometer distances

Abstract

We demonstrate robust propagation of anti-diffracting optical beams through atmosphere turbulence beyond kilometer distances. Such Airy-Bessel-like light beams surpass conventional Bessel beams and can, in principle, exhibit “self-focusing” in free space without any optical nonlinearity.
