Evolutionary Algorithm Assisted Design of an Elliptical Focusing Build-up Cavity Avoiding the Degradation Problem in BBO

Abstract

We report on the design of a novel cavity with cylindrical focusing to overcome crystal degradation effects in the generation of UV radiation using evolutionary algorithms. Experimental results show the advantages of the new set-up.
