Femtosecond Slicing for the MHz Repetition Rate LCLS-II X-ray Free Electron Laser

Abstract

We present a method to control the temporal profile of the LCLS-II X-ray free-electron laser by selectively heating parts of the electron beam with a spectrally shaped laser for fast pulse shaping.
