Tailoring spontaneous emission rates from atomic systems with shaped free-electron wavepackets

Abstract

We show that electron-photon and atom-photon interactions can be engineered to interfere with each other, allowing us to tailor the total spontaneous emission rate through the shape of quantum electron wavepackets.
