Experimental Single-Copy Entanglement Distillation

Abstract

We experimentally realize an entanglement distillation protocol which, against conventional wisdom, operates on a single photon pair entangled in two properties. This enables practical entanglement distillation which is orders of magnitude more efficient over long distances.
