Spatially Asymmetric Hot-Carrier Transport for Ultrafast Generation of Electromagnetic Waves

Abstract

We demonstrate the ultrafast conversion of statically passive dielectrics (e.g., amorphous TiO2) to transient second-order nonlinear media following the femtosecond transfer of hot electrons, enabling active control of nonlinear interactions, envisioned for terahertz functionalities.
