Unifying cavity solitons and frequency combs in active and passive driven resonators

Abstract

We introduce a generalized capturing the physics of frequency combs generated from active and passive cavities. This unification opens the possibility to control the morphogenesis of patterns such as Turing rolls and temporal solitons.
