Efficient Gigahertz Femtosecond Yb:KGW Laser with 2.2-W Average Power Generates Octave-Spanning Supercontinuum

Abstract

We present a 1-GHz Yb:KGW laser with 2.2-W average power and 38% optical-to-optical efficiency. The 290-fs pulses with 6.7-kW peak power generate an octave-spanning supercontinuum in a photonic-crystal-fiber.
