Conical modes in an optical fiber: the cut-off effect

Abstract

The transmission spectrum of the recently discovered localized conical modes in an optical fiber exhibits a cut-off effect at the wavelength independent of the local fiber radius. This effect is observed experimentally and explained theoretically.
