Hitless Low-Power All-Optical Absorption Based Switching with Organics on Silicon

Abstract

We demonstrate all-optical switching of a silicon ring-resonator using two photon absorption of engineered organic materials. We show hitless switching of 7dB change in extinction with power dissipation of 400 fJ/op.
