Morphology of femtosecond laser modification of bulk dielectrics

Abstract

Using 3D FDTD simulations, we study the morphology of the laser-created plasma inside fused silica. The most important effect responsible for plasma morphology is the electromagnetic pulse refraction by the generated plasma.
