A volume Bragg grating to replace a Faraday isolator in an amplifier with wavefront reversal via SBS

Abstract

Faraday isolators limit the power-scalability of multimode MOPA systems that use SBS to restore the diffraction-limited beam quality. We test a volume Bragg grating, a more scalable alternative, designed to separate wavelengths 0.0604nm (16GHz) apart.
