Novel injector schemes for Mid-Infrared Quantum Cascade lasers, toward the genetic optimization of the laser design

Abstract

Using a novel transport model based on density matrix, a new injector design for Mid-IR quantum-cascade-lasers is presented that improves laser performance. Results on automatized optimization of laser design using genetic algorithms are also shown.
