Abstract
We will examine the design and construction of a laser servo-locked to a Fabry-Perot for frequency stabilization, including achieving a certain linewidth with the various noise sources present, implementation tips, troubleshooting, and analysis. 150-word Biography: Mark Notcutt (PhD U. of KwaZulu Natal ~1991) got started in precision measurements during a post-doc at the University of Western Australia in Perth , and continued with the development of Fabry-Perot cavity stabilized lasers as a visitor to Leo Hollberg’s group at NIST Boulder and then with Jan Hall and Jun Ye at JILA (CU and NIST). He co-developed, with JH a midplane mounted Fabry-Perot cavity which allows 1 Hz linewidths to be realized easily, and measured the thermal noise floor of a number of different cavities. He founded SLS with Advanced Thin Films in 2009. Article not available. Article not available.
