Abstract

The 80-fs pulses generated by an Erbium-doped fiber-laser system are solitonically compressed down to 27 fs using a standard polarization maintaining fiber. After frequency doubling and compression 32 fs pulses with an average power of 61 mW are generated at a wavelength of 780 nm.
