Electro-Optically Tunable Vertically Integrated Chalcogenide Interferometer on LiNbO3

Abstract

A vertically integrated As2S3 Mach-Zehnder interferometer side-coupled to a Ti:LiNbO3 waveguide is electro-optically tuned utilizing asymmetric coplanar strip electrodes along the chalcogenide path. Tuning of the TM polarization is demonstrated with Vπ = 19.6 V.
