Silicon-Chip-Based Octave-Spanning Frequency Comb

Abstract

We demonstrate an octave-spanning frequency comb via parametric four-wave mixing in a monolithic, high-Q silicon nitride microring resonator. The comb is generated from a single-frequency pump laser and spans 180 THz with a 226-GHz spacing.
