Clinical Detection of Viral Infection on an Optofluidic Chip

Abstract

We demonstrate strain-specific detection of single virus nucleic acid molecules from clinical influenza samples using an optofluidic chip. We observe a limit of detection of 104 virus copies/mL and 10 orders of magnitude dynamic range.
