Design of single-moded, large-mode-area fibers with symmetric bend compensation

Abstract

A partially bend-compensated index profile can accomplish robust single-modedness for fibers with Aeff ~1000µm2, much larger than conventional designs, and does not require asymmetric fabrication or oriented deployment.
