High-QLithium Niobate Microring-Resonators on Silicon

Abstract

Submicron lithium niobate waveguides and resonators are demonstrated on silicon by a novel and reliable ion implantation and wafer bonding technique. Waveguide ridges are formed by selective oxidation of tantalum to avoid etching lithium niobate.
